Hi Folks,
Last month, I spend some time with my binoculars to see how they perform with a pair of UHC-filters. These binoculars accept regular eyepieces, which is an advantage when it comes to using filters. Don't worry if your binoculars have fixed eyepieces. You can still insert the filters in the eyecups. If they don't fit immediately, cut some rings of foam to keep the filters at place. It is not the ideal solution but it works! Here is my impression of Messier 17. The lower power of a pair of binoculars give room for observing the subtle extensions of M17. The Milky way background west of M17 also displayed a subtle pattern of mottling. The small cluster south of M17 is Messier 18. I hope that my sketch inspires you to grab you binoculars and go observing.

Rony,
Great to see you here again. You continue to capture masterful wide field sketches of wonderful deep sky targets. Your nights are getting darker and longer now. Happy hunting.

This is truly impressive. Really its like looking through your binos, the effect is simply stunning. And these stars all around.. WOW. I'm impressed. I like it very much. Same comments about M16. More real than that it's the real view at the eyepiece.
Andre.

Very nice! Just the way it looked through my 80mm refractor, under dark skies.

Fabulous wide field sketch! I like the way you've 'illuminated' the FOV and left the black portal hole. It gives the sketch real life.

That's just brilliant - very atmospheric and just what you see through an eyepiece (or two in this case!) Phil
