CG-5GT conversion new
      #5383889 - 08/24/12 01:45 AM Attachment (16 downloads)

My 10 year old Celestron CG-5GT eq. mount has a faulty hand controller and some burnt out electronic inside the mount.
May I ask, after removing and discarding the existing dual axis drive, what RA motor and hand controller I can readily buy to convert it into a single axis drive eq. mount just for visual observation.

Don't believe anyone makes a single axis drive for these anymore but once the existing covers are removed the Orion SVP dual axis drive fits.

Thanks for the information.
I can do with the extra dec drive if the dual axis drive for the Orion SVP can be used on the CG-5GT without modification.

I wonder if the Skywatcher EQ5 single axis drive would work.
