Good stuff, as usual, Phil.
And, yes, how I agree: The good things of the summer Milky Way do come to an end so quickly.... especially when the conditions haven't been that good for much of the summer.... which is the case so often in this region.
Gotta get out under the next dark-moon skies while the Archer is up to see some of these!

Phil, thanks to your article I have added the Teaspoon and Barnard's Galaxy, as well as revisiting 54 Sagittarii, to my observing list. Now, if only the weather would clear up here in "Sunny South Florida"!

Thanks, guys. Glad you enjoyed the article! We had some good views of the area from Stellafane two weeks ago. Saturday night was especially dry -- a summer oddity for VT -- so the objectives of my 25x100s stayed clear the entire time. Can't remember a recent year when that happened!
