During my 2 weeks holiday in France I sketched every day the sky just after sunset. The sky and the trees were sketched with a set of 12 soft pastels. The farm with pastel pencils. The original are A4-format. I had great difficulty in sketching the trees. The dark green pastel was to light, the black and brown to dark... I tried to mix them, but I'm not always satisfied with the result.
I wanted to present them all 12 together, but due to the limitation of 125 kb I present the sketches in two parts. Hope you like it.

Jef,
Very nice and a good record of the evening sky on your time in France. You had 5 very clear evenings and several other promising ones. I think I can detect the sun moving back to true West in your drawings.

Jef,
very artistic. I like all of them. It was a wonderful idea to sketch the same scene at different time.
And I know, drawing trees with pastel is not trivial. I tried and the result leaves much to be desired. But you did a great job especially in the second set.

Jef, it's really neat how you documented the sky over a period of time. I especially like sketches 8, 10 and 11.

Thanks Jef. Great catch, and something that really is fun to do. Try it in the morning sometime just after full moon and you can catch moon sets. Also a fun task.

Before starting with the project I didn't know it would be possible to see the movement of the sun.
