Thanks to you guys.
I capture 5 more today at 300X. These are huge proms at this magnification. I'll post them tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Hi Andrev, I like your sun sketches. I have a question. I have not observed the sun through a scope before ever.
These proms? Do you see them happen in real time? Can the motion of the prom be seen from being to end? If so how long do they remain above the surface? Forgive me, I have always wondered about this.

Since I sketch the proms, I can tell you that they are moving quickly and before I finish my 10 minutes sketch, if I attemp to do a retouch after 10 minutes, the proms is totally different. Most of the proms movement is not apparent on the first minute, but more you magnify and more you can see the movement from minute to minute. Some proms stay on the surface for 3 to 4 days and suddently they disapear by magic, as other change continously from hour to hour.
But some are very quick, called flares and on those ones you can see them growing up in real time within 5 minutes. Generaly a flare last for less than 10 minutes before returning back into the surface. Just have a look at this sequence I posted recently after the big filament disapeared. Sorry its in french, but just look at the time lapse from each picture and you will understand. Seeing that in the scope is simply spectacular. Saddely I missed this sequence as it was overcast in Montreal.
And if you look carefully at my sketches, the last one has been taken 5 hours later than the first one. Totally different isn't !!!
