Roland - Your lunar painting is very fine indeed. Particularly after the problems you experienced. I've only ever done one oil painting of a lunar feature.

Thanks for reading, fellow sketchers. Yes, oil painting "live" is not easy. However, it does deliver contrast and 3D effects (because of the bold and graduated shades you can mix). I don't do it that often because I have to be really in the mood and geared up to do it. Nevertheless, it is well worth the experiment if you have not done it. I will provide a little tutorial sometime in the future as some steps, compared to pastels, I have to do in reverse to get the effects I want to capture. In any case, thanks for looking.
