I have an 8" GSO Dob, I have a problem where if I rotate the Dob counter-clockwise, it will bring the tension handle with it and hence make the scope very sloppy and difficult to use. Rotating it clockwise is not an issue as it will essentially tighten it rather that loosen it.
Does anyone have any ideas for a quick fix?

maxwolfie, If there is a roller bearing under the tension knob it may need cleaned and a LITTLE lubrication. If the bearing is not moving freely it will cause the knob to loosen when the base rotates in that direction. Bob

Thanks Bob, the whole thing is brand new though so I'm thinking perhaps I've put it together wrong?

It turns out that for some reason the ball bearings were cutting a "race" into the washers, which I guess is causing a lot of binding.
Are there any options for a complete tension knob/bearing replacement? Don't really want to stuff around with it.
