I used the internal barlow for that one.

Still trying to image Jupiter new [Re: TerryWood]

Well, this one didn't turn out that great either. No barlow, through the back of the scope with a diagonal.

Another try, but still no joy. I'll try some extension tubes...

One more pic from the same group, but utilizing more alignment points.

It still looks washed out. Although I do know that I really need to go out to the country or away from buildings to get some clearer pics, I still think I can do better.

Still needs work, but vastly better. 4 minute exposure with the usual set up pointed out the window.

Terry,

You gotta get out of the room and out on the grass. Image away from the laminar flow of heat rushing up the side of the building. Go for it!

Matt, Les,

Thank you both! Depending on the cloud coverage I may venture out tonight. It's a bit of a drive, so I'm debating it.

Making progress new [Re: TerryWood]
      #5423284 - 09/16/12 05:23 AM Attachment (39 downloads)

It's not perfect, but it's starting to come along. For this one I utilized the internal barlow and a short extension tube. Again, picture taken from out my window.

Terry,

That is a superb Jupiter image.

Isn't it time you start a new thread to post your imaging results? Currently, there is not much relevance between the title of this thread and the essence of the current posts. Both your fine images and the Q 50th deserve a proper space for exposure IMHO

Thanks again! Yep, you must've read my mind. I agree, I should start another thread where folks can post their Questar pics and offer advice. I know I could certainly use it! Again, thank you all for the encouragement.

V/R

Terry
