I think you used your textures very well. Nice mood and feel to the scene. If you don't mind a suggestion, I think the image can be improved tremendously with just one minor little change. I would move the planet "back" on the plane and drop it 1/3rd the way down between the two mountain peeks..giving added dimension, depth, and hint movement...Would like to see the results from that effort. Other then that, bravo!

Excellent textures on the big planet, nice starfield, and very good foreground terrain (Terragen rendered, I am guessing).
I agree with Savant regarding the large planet.
Also, there is something bugging me about the small moon. Maybe its lighting seems different from the large planet (crescent vs. gibbous phase?) or maybe the shadowed part is too dark or transitions too abruptly into the light part.
Very nice picture, and welcome to the Astroart forum!

Hey! Thanks for all your comments! I'm pleased you like it! I forgot to put how i made this pic! So, for the foreground terrain, I used Terragen(as you guessed ForgottenMObject ) and then, I used Adobe Photoshop CS for the starfield, planet, planet textures, the rest in fact! As Savantsoir said, i'll try to modify the big planet to move it downer to see if it will improved this pic Thanks for the tip For the small moon, indeed there is a problem : as FMO remarked, the transition is too brutal. One more thanks for your welcomes In fact, I'm registered on the forum since december! I'll try to improve this pic and I'll post it here
Pascal
ps:savantsoir, your avatar make me dreamy! That pic seems wonderful...

Bryce is pretty fun and simple for landscape design..(such as this example of yours). Max has 8,700 page instruction manual and can CONTROL absolutely EVERYTHING...(most of Star Wars was made in Max, as well as many other motion pictures)..however, it is VASTLY complex..here is a screen shot of one of MANY "screens" available with Max. (i do not have my Phoebes artwork on this computer.will have to post later)

I like the new version a lot, Pascal. The planet seems realistically far away and a much better sense of the vastness of space is shown in this new version of the image. Very good!
Hahaha - that screen shot of Max is really funny! Could there possibly be any more options?!

MAX is a bear of a program! If you click on ANY of the buttons you see on this screen shot....it launces deeper into other screens..this is just the beginning! And i was wrong about the size of manual, it is over 11,000 pages! (this does include my plug-ins as well)..
Thanks for compliment pascal!

I think I'd be utterly paralyzed in front of a tool like that, afraid that one wrong click would shut down the universe.
I like how one of the options is "Force 2-sided" which is very accurate. No Light Side / Dark Side toggle, though.

LOL!!! James is working with it now for the first time, so watch out for possible black holes!
