Is that simply due to the observation angle combined with Earth's rotation? I feel like an idiot.

Even though it's off-center, I kind of like this one.

Ed, that is awesome (the moon looks giant)! Here are a couple that I took tonight...just before the moon snuck behind my building and out of sight.

Last one. I was experimenting...I tried screwing the nose piece from the CCD camera right onto the end of the Brandon 24mm. It works, but you only get a couple of threads in before it stops.

You're doing great work Terry considering your location.

Thanks Les! It's touch and go. Some nights are definitely better than others. I've noticed that I seem to get better pictures when I use all extension tubes and a diagonal connected to the axial port. Plus another short extension at the eyepiece. I have to take a ridiculous number of frames to get a useful image. Sometimes upward of 15000. Registax locks up frequently and I have to start all over again.

For pics of Jupiter, that is.
For the Moon, usually 500 or so, then whittled down in Registax.

I'm just not getting the detail. I'm going to try from a different location this weekend, weather permitting.

This one is kind of ratty looking. Seeing not good at all and compounded by imaging from a window.
