      #5424768 - 09/17/12 01:45 AM

The seeing was nice and steady on the 16th. Here re 3 sets of images (for each pair tot the left is the LRGB and to the right the RGB). As usual, the 10" Meade plus 2xbarlow and IDS Ueye Ruby camera.

Two at FD27

At FD34

RAW FD27 images

Very nice images indeed Flava - lovely detail and processing..!

CMOS cameras are taking big strides by the look of things: I'm testing another cmos sensor camera for a manufacturer right atm using a different cmos sensor but also with a very high QE...can't say much at present but will post results after I manage some reasonable images (if the weather permits and after feedback with the company that have given this cam to me for testing... )

Great images. I just don't understand how the colored raw gets processed into the detailed final image. It dosn't seem like there is that much detail there. Is it just the wavelets from Registax that bring the details out?

That is one RAW image. With it's noise and everything. By stacking towsends of them, the signal to noise ratio is greately improved. That is what makes the detail (signal) stand out. Final processing (deconvolution or wavlets or unsharp mask) is just a way of increasing the contrast, it doesn't add any signal.
