I've never polar aligned my mount as I can't see Polaris from my obs. Apparently the fw is the same as the Cegm and I should be able to an All Star align? But I don't see this as an option on the handset, is it the Polar align option? I've got the latest handset fw. This was introduced in firmware v4.15 (the first version shipping with the CGEM). So any Celestron gem with hand controller firmware v4.15 or higher has the all star polar align. You can use either the CGEM or CGEPro manuals (pg 37-38) for the instructions. Another good read for a variety of polar alignment methods including ASPA is in Robert Brown's great manual on the ASGT ... it's available in the Yahoo Celestron_AS group in the files section under Robertos Stuff. It is best to use a star that is close to the celestial horizon and near the meridian. I choose my last calibration star for my polar align star.
