"Pictures" plural, as in...hope to shoot and post more tonight when conditions are better.
Very basic, single shot, T2i, prime focus through the C8. Minimal post processing, mainly color temp adjustment to eliminate pinkish tone around the bright upper portion.
Don't know why focus isn't as good in the north/south as in the middle, perhaps a newb thing easily correctible? Even in the middle, focus isn't as nice as I would have liked.

Good first shot and nicely framed. Try again tonight and you may get the Lunar "X" feature. Try right after it gets dark.

Nice moon shot.
Because atmospheric turbulence can mess with image quality, I like to take multiple shots (5 to 10) of the same subject. The severity of the turbulence determines the number of shots. I download all of them to my desktop, process the best of the bunch and delete the rest. Hopefully, I will capture at least one image when the air is steady.
The thing I like about digital cameras is that you can snap the shutter till your heart's content, erase what you don't want, and start again.

Thanks, you guys are too generous.
Bob, what is the X you mentioned? In the book Turn Left at Orion, there's a picture of Rima Triesnecker that looks like an X and should be visible tonight. Is that it?

WOW..that is one fantastic image. I think it looks great, especially for a first pic of the moon. It's a hell of a lot better than mine.

You should be very happy with that shot. The nice thing about shooting the moon is you don't have to shoot and stack multiple images to get very pleasing photos. I'm going to try to get a shot of the Werner X tonight I caught it with my 1st afocal shot about 10 years ago. I was so surprised when over looking the shots I took that night. I think it was the first shot I posted on the lunar forum and was taught about it by the gentle folks that inhabit that forum. Be Well and good luck tonight Grey

Here is what it looked like through my 8" SCT at prime focus earlier this spring. It was the first time I ever saw it and it was by chance that I caught it that night.

Oh, there's the X. Been fretting about lack of dark skies, but geez there's enough detail on the moon to keep one busy for years!

Some from last night. Really need to look into some stacking/blending software. Air was visibly turbulent and had to shoot MANY exposures to end up with three semi-decent ones.
