Lynd's Darks new

Here is a grouping of about eight dark nebulas from Lynd's Dark Nebula catalog. It is that complex of dust and darks just off the Cocoon Nebula.

That is really cool, and just a tad creepy to look at! Kind of like an inky presence just devouring the stars!

Nicely done Jim,
I was unaware to the extend of the "dark stuff" in this region - thanks.

I will try to mage a mosaic of the region and include the cocoon also.

Thanks for the comments folks.

Some of you mentioned this is an area you want to try. Actually many wide fields of the Cocoon show much of this region. I think the deeper you go with the exposures, the more stuff that will come up in this field.

Really nice Jim. I love these kinds of fields. I wish I could shoot them from my house but the light pollution gradients are too much.
