I did something similar, getting the iEQ30 (and an ES 152mm achro & 6" Baby PowerNewt) to wet my beak, as it were. There was enough learning curve for me to have a lot of fun with the iOptron mount, and now, when I do get the Mach1 for only imaging, I'll have the iEQ30 for visual while I'm taking pics.
