Dear observers / sketchers,
my son made for me a special gift: An astronomical sketching book. It is small enough for easy handling at the telescope, has thick yellowish pages and a durable cover. I use it from now on for the most sketches. So you see here a sketch black on yellow. I used my 8 cm Apo for this sketch. The overview image was done by 60x. The sun stood low but was very steady so I could use 120x for the details. This is rarely the case.

Uwe,
There are benefits to having both a son and a sun. Nice white light sketches of those sunspots.

Thanks for posting because I missed the sun yesterday (due to clouds when work was finished)

Uwe,
Very nice work--I like those insets of the sunspot groups. Your son scored big with that gift.
