Looking to sell my B&W Nautilus 802s new
      #5442461 - 09/26/12 09:25 PM

Don't have time to really use them anymore. Thought I would give someone a chance on the board before eBay, audiogon, or Craig's list. They are the red cherry model. Still have the original packaging. Would have to go motor freight or be picked up in Norman. Contact me if interested. New they were around $10,000 for the pair.

Nautilus 802 Red Cherry 802.I'm guessing it's not the current diamond tweeter version.

I though all sales related posts were supposed to be in either Swap and Shop or Classifieds and not allowed in other forums?

Well, there isn't a place in Shop and Swap and I thought I would, this one time, pull my Owner of Cloudy Nights card and give people that listen and use stereo equipment a chance at them.

Sorry, but I am not going to delete my thread. I appreciate the sentiment, but this is a one time thing. As the owner of Cloudy Nights, the forum this is posted in, I am going to leave this one post for parties that may be interested. Normally I don't post in here at all, but thought someone might like to save a multiple thousands of dollars. I would rather have someone here pick it up, then sell it on Ebay and such.

If you listened to the current generation of 802D you would realized that your speakers are VERY OUTDATED by todays standards. The new 802D at MSRP of $15,000 id far more cost effective than the ones you are trying to sell even if you would take less than $5,000 for them.

The current versions not only have the diamond tweeter but have entirely new electronics in them which result in an extremely improved speaker system.

If you took the time to listen to the new 802D I think you would agree you will need a much larger audiance than you have here to get the best price for them.

While I would consider the current 802D as a possible replacement for mu 1037Be the ones you are talking about just do not measure up.

Fantastic. Thank you for your input. My asking price was under $5,000 to begin with, so I am in the correct ballpark.

I'd be willing to trade you straight across my 602's for your 802's if you're downsizing.

How do they sound in that big new showroom. And if you haven't fired them up in there. Well think about the customer experience of seeing all those scopes lined up and the sonic experience of the 802's supplying the soundscape.

What are you running for amps and source?

Well, apparently they aren't very good anymore so people would run away in droves. lol

I have run a variety of amps from Krell to Rotel. Right now they were running through an Anthem P2. The source varies from Streaming services from my Oppo SACD player to an old B&O turntable.

*BLEEP* at these posts. For under $5000 those "Terrible" sounding 802's STILL sound much better than most $10,000 speakers. I have a conservative set up with Rotel 1075amp and 805s, no they're not the diamonds either, but even my dog doesn't mind...........

I agree. Actually you might think of a section for generally selling. Just a thought. Thanks for the work on keeping this site up. William

I had this version of the 802's and they sound fantastic. went from them to the Tannoy Churchill's. I always have had a soft spot for anything labeled B&W. Still have a couple of older pairs.

Have you tried to sell them on Audiogon?
