Jupiter 4. October

After some time I made a scetch once again. Jupiter in the early morning of October 4. I saw the GRF and several details in the clouds.
Telescope: Meade 300 Refractor (80/1200)
Eypieces: Vixen Ortho 9mm( 133 x)
Vixen Ortho 7mm ( 171x)

Mike,

Nice 80mm sketch. Your working magnifications of 133x - 171x are close to what I use on my 70mm for jove; 133x and 164x. i see you have some interesting things going on here - the pale and small "red" spot, the festoon like streak through the EZ and the banding is showingt fluctuations in intensities. Polar differences are well stated too.

My 70mm is mothballed till next month when Jupiter will rise just high enough for me at the proper hour to make some sketches. Bought some pastels and such for this apparition.

At anyrate, very much enjoyed. More!

Really nice Jupiter sketch. For a few years, I used one of these Meade 80/1200 scopes.
The planetary views it gave were very impressive.
