I purchased a CG-4 several years ago, but have only used it a few times. I'm expecting a Sky Watcher 100ED OTA from Astronomics to arrive Tuesday, so I think it'll be getting a little more use. I noticed that the piece on the Dec. shaft where the dovetail bar attaches is just a "tiny" bit loose. This part is apparently attached to the lower section of the declination shaft by a bolt, which itself does not move. Has anyone else run across this problem with their CG-4?

Have you tried tightening the saddle plate to the top of the dec axis? Or adjusting the bottom to eliminate the play? It might be worthwhile to simply take it apart to see how it works, then reassemble it. Just be sure to remover the worm before you do that.
There are many similarities with the CG-5 mount. Here are the overahul instructions on that mount: http://www.astronomyboy.com/cg5/Astronomy_Boy_CG-5.pdf
