Optimal FPS and exposure for Phillips Webcams new
      #5466278 - 10/12/12 02:58 AM

I have been reading around the internet as well as here and I am seeing information that indicates that the Phillips Toucam and SPC900 cannot move data via USB fast enough to keep up with high frame rates and therefore uses some kind of data compression that is detrimental. That being the case, what are the optimal settings for these old webcams?

Thanks in advance,
Brad

5-10fps. Exposure depends on the light.

Golden rule with Jupiter is to keep gain above 50% and gamma 0-10% to prevent the dreaded onion rings. I tried 20fps once but compression artefacts were pretty bad when sharpening the image so 5-15fps is best. Experiment if you wish.
