Here's the control box for the motors - never seen it before. (That doesn't mean much, though. )

Rodger,
Don't know who make the mount but I bought one here on CN listed as a "CG5 clone" from scopehead. I found that it was Ok for what it was - a cheep GEM.

I see you have this mount for sale on eBay. Well, this is where this mount originally came from. It's an unnamed Chinese CG-5 clone that sold for around $229 on the 'Bay about two years ago for a short time. Here's a post from a CN member who bought one:
http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=lxd55&Number=3672544&Forum=f41&Words="CG5%20clone"&Searchpage=0&Limit=99&Main=3671190&Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&daterange=1&newerval=3&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post3672544
There were other posts about this mount on CN around the same time.

Thanks Mkofski, guess I'll suck it up and be patient to get the cg-5.
I'm not the one selling it, skyguy, I just noticed it on ebay and wondered if it was worth bidding on. Thanks for the link, though.

Rodger,
It was not a bad mount for a smallish OTA. Worked well for manual push-to with an 80mm refractor and a 150mm Mak. It was easier to use than the CG5 I had for a quick look. Had to keep the tripod legs fully retracted. I think I paid about $160 new for it.

That looks exactly like the mount that came with my Konus 130 mak. I did a tune up on it and it works well enough for what it is. The weak link seems to be the tripod as the legs are very thin metal and the fittings are mostly plastic.

Looks to me like one of the clone GP mounts sold by Konus after they stopped selling Synta stuff.
