The iTunes store says it is not currently available for US download......possibly the app hasnt been updated for iOS 6.

I did have an earlier version, and wasnt thrilled with the iOS version. I use Sky Safari, which isnt free, but it is, IMHO, the Best planetarium program out there, including scope control, etc.

Andy

The problem for an iOS Stellarium is SkySafari. I don't even have one of the recent versions of SkySafari, but it works so well I really don't need anything else.

i have Stellarium v1.5 on iPhone.
But I agree, SkySafari is more comprehensive.

I was just curious. I don't even have an iphone yet! Also, I purchased Skysafari this past summer when they were having a half price sale on it, in anticipation of purchasing an iphone. I'll probably get one by the first of the year.

Go for Sky Safari or Starmap Pro!

They're worth every penny-- and you don't have to fork over many pennies at all!

For naked eye viewing, add GoSkyWatch to the list.

Stellarium is great on the computer (Mac or PC) but I did not like the mobile (iOS) version at all. I would stick with SkySafari, free, or better yet, the Pro version.

There's an Android version but I wouldn't bother if I were you.
Sky Safari beats everything else.

The Android version needs some work. The Stellarium desktop Windows 7-64 version is a screamer for me and is on all of my machines. I'm trying out the Mobile Observatory's Android app but the best portable software for me so far (non-Apple) is the Astromist PPC version that I use on a Windows PDA with bluetooth scope control.

I was lucky enough to get Stellarium before they took it off the US Apple store. I bought the $10 version of Sky Safari, and now that's all I use.
