EQ8 Deposit

I put $1445 down on an EQ8. They tell me I'll have it before xmas so long as I can find the other $3K

What they can't tell me is what sort of fitting I need in the dome to mount the thing. No one knows

From the images and measurements we were supplied with they are very similar to the CGE pro.

Hmmmm..... you own an EM-200 and "upgrade" to an EQ-8?

Not an upgrade. The tak is no good in a dome, it slews at a snails pace. Upping it from 12 to 24 volts moves it from grass growing to paint drying speed

I normally gunsight it close to target, pinpoint it in maxim and slew to target from there.

I'll just have to wait for it to arrive I guess.
It comes with a tripod so I'll be able to get it working anyway.

Well let's hope the pier/tripod isn't as high as the one supplied with the CGE Pro - far too high for my C14. Based on my excellent experience of the NEQ6, I've got high hopes of Synta's heavyweight effort.

Well this fell through and I got my deposit back.

Apparently they received 2 eq6 alt/az mounts which they didn't order so something was lost in translation.

March it is.
