OK. I couldn't resist - I just received the 32mm Brandons from Don Yeier. I really like my 24mm Brandons and thought I'd give these a try. Besides, I think quite highly of Don. I'll report back when I'm able to evaluate these. I also have taken advantage of the Tele Vue sale and am expecting a 2" 2X Powermate + T-Ring adapter thanks to Johnny's recommendation. Lots to play with. Now, all I need is a cloud-free night as we had this past Friday. Daytime testing is fun, but just not the same.

I got mine today and just had a brief look at the Double Cluster, comparing the view with the 24mm Brandons. I was using the MkVs at 1X in my FS152. The eye relief was not as bad as I was expecting, I found them pretty comfortable actually. I had spent some time with the 28 RKE a few nights ago and these had a similar spillover effect, and I actually found the 32s easier to use than the RKEs as far as eye relief. There was definitely edge distortion in my setup, just like the 24mm Brandon, in the outer 15% or so that included astigmatism. The TFOV of the 32mm was actually slightly bigger than the 24mm by at least 10%, maybe more. Beautiful diamonds on black velvet. I do wish the outer edge was a bit sharper - glad I kept my 24 Pans! Sweet little eyepieces though.

I just realized there was a reason why my 24mm had the same TFOV as the 32mm Brandon. My 32 was a regular version with a field stop. My 24 was a version without a fieldstop, with the barrel acting as field stop. I talked to Don about that. He could send me a fieldstop ring if I so desired. Instead I chose not to, so I could keep that extra wide field In my Questar 7 at f/16 or slower, edge of field abberations were mild anyway.
Glad you enjoy your new 32mm Brandon bino-pair Johnny!

Thanks Erik, I am definitely enjoying them. Don sent me a matching 16mm flat top as well. Completes my little black flat top "Anniversary style" bino set of 32mm, 24mm, 16mm and 12mm. With the 32mms the Double Cluster is perfectly framed in the FS152 at 1X. Eye placement is a little trickier with the 2.6X glasspath in place but oh, the view of Jupiter! These eyepieces like all the Brandons have simply excellent scatter control.
I imagine at f16 you are going to get fairly clean edges even with the 32mm and 24mm Brandons. The Brandons are usually recommended as "f7 or slower" eyepieces but if you are a stickler about edge correction I think the 24mm and 32mm are more like "f12 or slower" eyepieces. By comparison the 16mm and 12mm Brandons I have are clean almost to the edge at f8.
