We had very good conditions this morning although I had to keep adjusting my collection settings due to moving banks of water vapor and thin clouds. I managed to get four RGB sets w/ IR685, and 25 OSC images w/ the DBK21AU618. Some of the data looks pretty amazing for our area, here is an example of one of the OSC shots taken at 07-50-33 UT. I won't get to process the mono cam take until after work today and will have to post anything cool later.
Clear Skies,
Brian

I think this is your best image to date Brian! I was out there with you about 60 miles to the north in Baltimore and fully share in your concern about the moving banks of water vapor and thin clouds, heck the humidity was up there at 87%! I was just glad that the temps didn't fall another 4 degrees to the point where they matched the dew point, we had enough to deal with in keeping pace with the rapidly changing transparency issues. I'm just now processing my SER files from around 2:30 AM, lots of fun; looking forward to your monochrome cam data later on today!

Nice work, Brian!
I debated getting up this morning, but the debate got pretty testy and almost came to blows, so I stayed in bed just to be safe. I can't imagine what would have happened if I was actually debating with another person.
Wayne
p.s. what really happened was that I stayed up to watch the end of the ball game after watching the "debate" and had an early meeting this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get another chance soon!

Nice work, Brian. I'm really surprised you got clear skies. I saw clouds coming in last night, so decided not to get up, and the satellite images I saw this morning seemed to confirm that we were socked in until dawn. You are smarter than a satellite!

Thanks Darryl...I'm working the RGB data now. I am having the hardest time trying to get rid of violet tones in the zone areas, I might go ahead and post one for discussion.

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments, glad I decided to have a go instead of staying in bed The seeing turned out to be far better than expected and I knew I was in for a great ride when Jupiter popped up on the screen. Just happy to have been in the right place at the right time… Pete – very challenging (and strange!) atmospheric conditions …you know what I mean Steve – the moons are Callisto (top) and Ganymede (bottom) Wayne – I stayed up for the debate/scrum as well, but caught a nap afterwards…it was still tough to drag myself outside Kevin – I made notes on the weather conditions and WILL be looking for them in the future, even if things don’t look too promising…I hate missing good imaging opportunities

Thanks S.C., Trevor, and Glenn; it's nice to have a run of good seeing after the almost six month dry spell the first half of the year. On another note, Trevor and some of the other folks here really demonstrated the value of the IR filters, particularly at 685nm. I just got one and the 17th was my first opportunity to try it out. Here is one of the IR images I took that morning, all of my RGBs (which I am struggling with a bit, sorry for the delay) are combined with this IR filter. Back to the processing, I still owe some ya'll some images...
Clear Skies,
Brian
