New software claims to do what none other can!
      #5485759 - 10/23/12 05:48 PM

Here is the story : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2221466/SmartDeblur-Download-app-blurs-fuzzy-images-amazing-results.html

Here is the program: http://yuzhikov.com/projects.html

I know a lot of us Meade guys and gals are into astrophotography so I would love what you think as I am still a newbie.

IRIS has some pretty good de-blurring routines that I've used from time to time in a pinch:

Best of all, it's free.

Looks like deconvolution to me. Nothing new here. Samples (pardon my French)

Didn't mean to imply it was anything but, I was just offering it as a program intended for astro use since apparently Escher found the "new software" to have limited astro utility.

On my tests - which was primarily deep sky stuff - it really didnt help pull stars from background noise. I did try the motion blur fixes for star trails and didnt have a lot of luck.. I spent about 30 minutes before I tired of the exercise.

Seems to be a big to do story about nothing then. These methods already exist according to you guys so the daily mail blew it out of proportion and i posted it lol sorry for wasting your time.
