Jupiter from Belgium in excellent seeing 23/10 new
      #5487124 - 10/24/12 02:48 PM Attachment (117 downloads)

An ever so slightly foggy night with hardly any wind and the Jetstream out of the way provided me with by far the best seeing I've had this year.

For almost 3 hours Jupiter was very very steady (there was some waviness to the seeing in Blue light, but Red & Green were extremely steady).

This is pretty much one of the very best result images, with the very photogenic GRS,LRS & various artists almost exactly on the meridian.

These images were taken through my 30cm Orion Optics UK at 9000mm FL, individual AVI's were 2 minutes long per colour, multi-align in Autostakkert compensating for any rotational blurring. I tried derotating the final images in WinJupos but it was having trouble correctly doing the registration per colour, so I finally fell back to just doing a double alignment in Photoshop and combining the edge & center aligned versions together for this result.

Nice one Bart!

Sounds like the aligning was a lot of work but it paid off. Well done!

Glenn
