Last night had the best air in quite a while, posting my best pic of the lot. I welcome your comments and suggestions.

Additional details-- Celestron 11" reflector DMK 21AU618 monochrome camera / 2x barlow ~1,000 of 4,000 frames in each channel stacked processed as rRGB / filtered luminance

Very nice detail. Perhaps a bit of noise that you can soften without loosing detail? Have you tried WinJUPOS? I've also found that while the R as lum adds some detail, it changes the color balance.

I think Mike is right: you have great data there. The final image is a bit too red on my screen and fairly noisy. Can you stack more frames per channel? My first attempts (disclaimer: I'm far from expert at this) I assumed the total number of frames would smooth the noise but I found that if the individual channels were still noisy, that noise showed up in the compilation.
So, maybe boost to 1500 or 2000 frames per channel and tweak the color and you'll have a (more) awesome shot.

Thanks for the input; definitely a lot of noise present, especially in the darker channels. I played around with the processing a bit (more frames, less sharpening, color balance), and have attached a less noisy result below.
