I just bought an Orion Express 80 OTA off Cloudy nights. This is a 80 mm F/6 refractor. Hands on Optics is selling a Celestron Alt/Atz mount for $90.00 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/221126376947?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Would this be good choice or is there a better one out there? This is a grab and go compliment to my C8 used for wide fields.

Brent so you can factor this in to your mount decision the OTA without anything on it is 5.4 pounds, so get something reasonably solid. Finder + diagonal + 2" widefield eye piece your probably close to 8 pounds.

Brent I use a Stellarvue SV80ED on a Vixen Porta-II mount and really like that combination. It's easy to push to coordinates and the slow motion controls are very good. See the "degree circles" forum thread under "Equipment" to complete your setup. Stan

I would not recommend that Celestron "heavy duty" alt/az mount. I have one and it is far from stable. I also highly recommend the Vixen Porta II. It is very good for small scopes and I think it is very user friendly. I don't know what your OTA came with...but assuming that it has tube rings, a simple V series dovetail bar is a very versatile thing. But not on that Celestron mount. It does not use a conventional saddle. Take a look at the Porta. It is more money but is definitely worth it.
Best, Linda B.
