In a 30 minutes clear sky early afternoon, I have just time to do these three sketches before the clouds come back.

Sun is orange in this telescope? Not red?

Yes its a great scope for visual. The sun is redish but for my sketches I use orange color. Its not as good when I use red color

In my opinion red color looks more realistic:)

Hi.

No fault... The problem using red surface, the chromosphere disappear at the same time. I don't know ? It would be nice to have the opinion of other peoples.

Everybody here in astrophotography use different color for the surface from red to blue. Its a personal choice and all are good.

Hi.

I did a test. I cloned the sunspots from the black and white sketch because adding this amount of red make the sunspots very dark and not realistic. In a complex susspots setup, that would be difficult to reproduce.

As for me, I prefer the yellowish color and some have agreed with that choice on another forum. And you ?

As I like looking at my sketches in a slideshow, I no more like the second sketch of this serie because now everytime I see it during the slideshow, I see a big frog with two big eyes... I can't no more see the prom itself.

Honestly, I prefer the alien look of the sun in CaK.

But to answer your question, the yellowish orange look of your original work is realistic and easy to look at. I'd vote to stick with what you've been doing.
