Jupiter, Io, and Ganymede - GRS + Shadow 10/31/12
      #5497323 - 10/31/12 06:09 AM Attachment (59 downloads)

Had some good seeing tonight, first time shooting Ganymede, two moons, and the GRS with a moon + shadow. Awesome setup.

Processed on the laptop at 3am. Couldn't wait to see what I got. Computer monitor gave up the ghost.

Animated .gif showing about 2 hours of rotation:

Super image David, very well done. Looks like you caught some detail on Ganymede

Clear Skies,

Thanks Brian,

I was thinking maybe I got some detail on it as well. I have a few longer FL shots from the last runs out of 24 RGB sets that look promising. I was shooting from the time Io appeared to the full transit of Ganymede's shadow. Should make for a cool animation when I get done.

Thanks Paul,

I'll keep a lookout for your shots, how was your seeing down south? Forecast looked good.

Thanks Tox,

It is amazing how dynamic the planets are. That is one thing I like about planetary vs deep space. Much more change in short time periods.

Cheers
