Oops...sorry....

I would think that most binoculars that are for astro viewing are not polarized. Optical photons can, to a certain degree, be polarized by scattering off of surfaces whether its dust grains, atmospheric molecules, asphalt, etc. (That's why many sun glasses are polarized...to block scattered light) When it comes to astro viewing I don't want to attentuate any star light (light pollution can GO however!) thus binoculars for astro viewing ought not to be polarized.

The Celestron Opti-view binoculars are the ones that someone suggested. They come in polarized and in LPR optics. Do most Astro-binocs have LPR lenses or is that just with this pair?

Don't buy binoculars with built in filters!!!

Go read the current thread on thos Optiviews.

If you want good filters, get one, and place it over the eyepiece of your dominant eye.

Those polarized Celestron Opti-View binos are not for astronomy use per see.

I have binoculars to support my larger scope - usually one of us will be looking at through the big scope at the last target we found and the other will be looking with the binoculars for the next target. It is so much easier for me to scan with 15x80's then to hunt things in my big scope, Mostly better field of view and easier slewing.
