Yes. You will need a video capture device to bring the video into your computer. There is no way to control the camera with a computer unless you mod the camera.

However, if you do want to mod the camera there is a product offered that allows a USB connection to use basic key controls to operate the camera, find that part here;

Video connection still requires a Video Capture Device, like a Dazzle 100 to take the NTSC video and convert it into digital for the computer.
