Doesn't the different telescopes (from 6" to 16") explain (for some part) the changing tail?

hi all,
many thanks.
Jef:
>Doesn't the different telescopes (from 6" to 16") explain (for some part) the changing tail? <
sure it´s one criterion as the darkness of the observing place.
ok the sketch 8.Oct with 10" with very claer sky show the same tail length as at 10.Oct with 16" under "nrmal" sky.
I see it by measure the magnitude. With bigger scope and higher power I "lost" parts from tail because the angle in front of my eye is to bride,
so with smaller scopes mostly the magnitude is semingly higher...
But I observed at 10&11. Oct and later 17-20.10. only with 16" in moonless clear nights so the tail was later longer.
I think it´s real.
Bye Christian

I like these very well. Sketching better portrays how a comet really looks to the observer than does imaging. GW
