It is a PAIN to align this thing, fiddling with tiny allen wrenches and tiny screws. You should be taking out HALF of the offset, not all of it, and then turn the mount back to the other side, take out half of the error, go to the other side, take out half the error and so forth.... I think you are supposed to use something at least a mile away (parallax issue). How far away is your pole?? I chose a picture frame on a wall 20' distant. When you align the optical and mechanical axis, you will know it. Cliff is right, adjust far less than you think that you need to, do it in little steps. Before you know it, you will have both axis aligned. I would add that the first two pictures show that your alignments were actually making the axis grow farther apart. Take notice if you are getting closer or farther apart. If you are going farther apart then you are going in the wrong direction with your adjustments and do the opposite.
