Wow! What a whirlwind the past 6 months has been for us here at New Moon Telescopes. Before I share the link to our newest and smallest scope, I am compelled to give a quick shout out to all our friends/customers here on CN. Thank you for your feedback, your honest thoughts, and the insights you have shared with us. NMT is still in its infancy, and while we have big plans for the future, we recognize the role YOU play in getting the word out about us. For following us on Twitter, for liking us on Facebook, for your support- THANK YOU!
And now, we would like to introduce our littlest scope of the New Moon Telescopes family:
The 8” F/4 NMT Table Top Dob
Check out the specs, or watch the video of my wife, Heather, and the scope (it’s her CN/YouTube debut!). Keep an eye out for more vids, including how-to’s, on youTube and updates under “news” on the website.

Heather didn't seem nervous at all. Maybe there is a lucrative career waiting for her in TV commercials!

Thanks for the encouragement, gentlemen- being a newbie to astronomy and presenting a scope can be a little intimidating! I'm learning as we go and I am thankful the amateur astronomer community is so welcoming. Of course, Ryan is the expert, but I fully expect to give him a run for his money soon.

You have a great product there, and I wish you luck with selling it.
I saw this scope in person at the Kopernik Observatory AstroFest a few weeks ago. It is *really* nice. Someone looking for a small Dob that’s a step up into the premium category should consider one of these.

The specs say the mirror is made by Parks. Parks has an excellent reputation, but I was under the impression that their parent company recently went out of business, and Parks was only open one day a week (and maybe not even that anymore). Can you clarify the situation?

Parks is closed at this time, perhaps not permanently, but they had a ton of stock in mirrors pre-made and stored on shelves. Lumicon operates out of the same building. Perhaps a call to them could clarify the situation vis-a-vis the availability of Parks mirrors that are pre-made. Since nearly all parks 6" scopes were f/6 and 8" scopes f/6 also, that would be what I would expect to be available.

First and foremost thanks for visiting our website. Starman1 is correct. There are a limited number left in various sizes being distributed by retailers such as Scopecity. And- for the time being at least- I do not believe they are producing more (that could change over night I am sure). The reason we decided on placing the Parks into the tabletop newtonian was because our "go to" optician didn't have tools for an 8 inch F4 (he did have tools for F7, but that's not the style we were seeking). If the demand for the table top is great enough (fingers crossed!!!) then our optician will make tools for the F4 variety and we will base future orders on the higher demand and the different optic.
Thanks again,
-Ryan
