Looks like I'm in the habit getting USB video dongle and open it for fun. Here is another one (Mygica Ezgrabber 2, search for 201-194 if link is dead.)
Per its driver (both Win7 @32 and @64), it seems to be Conexant CX23103 based and is similar with Hauppauge USB-Live2 (check Amazon, hint, hint.) I have to open it up to take a look for my good luck . CX23103 is a very good chip (10-bit A/D, CCIR656 422), if that's really in it and today is a lucky day.
Now the lucky price:
Today (10/22) is $17. With this code (MLCKQ21GNL1) <-- today only and if you are a member, the price is $13 shipped.
I bear no responsibility about this device. Just bought one for fun. YMMV
Clear Skies!

Sorry kept on sharing other find...
Mygica iGrabber which is an emPIA EM28xx based USB video capture dongle.
The cost for this card (search 201-189 ) with coupon code MLCQ24JN
today (10/24/2012) will be $21 shipped (from US).
Empia based is also known as DC-60+ and works on Win7 @32 or @64.
Why I mention this card? It's because it comes with OSX 10.4 and above driver and software <-- free download.
(Will DC-60+ work with the software? My gut feeling is no, unless you modify the driver's info file or change your USB dongle's USB ID to this one's.
Will I buy this one and take a picture? The answer is no. I've already have a DC-60+ and another dongle (DC-60) which is supported by OSX.
Clear Skies!

Well, it's even a better version: CX23102 (more features than 23103, but not extra useful for this video capture application). USBid 1f4d:0102
Its video proc amp only has two features exposed (brightness and contrast). It's the driver limitation.
Works for both Win7 @32 and Win7 @64
Here is the picture.
P.S. if you don't know Conexant...
probably you know Brooktree (such as BT878 series), which was then brought by Rockwell Int'l, which later was bought by Conexant.
Clear Skies!

I'm wondering why there are so few if any cameras with both analog output like BNC or RCA and USB for computer connection . It seems trivial to have the camera DSP output the RGB digital stream to the USB or to the analog output . Also, HDMI is easy to attach too at the DSP level, so why don't more cameras have these outputs? If a frame grabber with a decent chipset can be bought retail for $10 as posted above, how much would be the parts cost for just the USB part of it to be added to an existing camera board?

Matt,
Actually, it could cost less from pure material cost point of view. But it will cost more due to much smaller market size.
P.S. quite a few these camera DSP chips already have CCIR-656 4:2:2 digital output. The mfg will have to adapt that with the proper USB interface IC (e.g., EZUSB-FX2) to pump it out. This will significant reduce the degradation (first from digital video to analog NTSC; then convert the NTSC signal back to digital thru a dingle )
P.S. Think it again, that 4:2:2 can just go thru a SDI-video formatter to direct-send out the digital video, and skip the USB completely.
Clear Skies!
