A quick 30s [6x5s stack] via 'untrained' ETX-70 in polar mode on patio with a few globulars identified via Robert Glenders's annotated M31 image LP meant M31 not seen by eye but pic recorded to mag 14.5 so I'm happy

Very cool image. I enjoy your work and what you are accomplishing using a small achromatic refractor ... usually reserved for visual use only ... much more than the images posted on CN taken with $20,000 scopes, $15,000 mounts, $10,000 cameras and 20 hour exposures!

Thanks James and Dave for your comments - much appreciated Yes - even small scopes like the ETX-60/70/80 make great little astrographs. Even moreso as the original Meade ETX-70 Manual presumes it's unsuitable for such imaging
