I've got a Celestron 8" CPC, a Canon 50d, and the adaptor to hook them together. I'd like to photograph Jupiter. How do you get magnification? Do you just use a Barlow; slip an eyepiece into the adaptor; or nothing? Also, do any of you strap your camera on to the back of the scope to keep it from slipping out, and what do you use? I'm a little concerned that my camera body is only held in by two little set screws. [Re: CharlesW]       #5518568 - 11/13/12 07:32 PM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   I would use a 2x barlow between camera body and scope (prime focus) with any of the various adapters to get you there. You will be at about f20 which is good for capturing video of the planet. If you are shooting thru eye piece with camera and lens (afocally) then you want to use the eyepiece that will give you greatest magnification. Jerry Lodriguss has wonderful tutorials.
