Clear skies, New Moon, No wind... low 30's... I'm thinking its an imaging session tonight!
And a new Dell XPS 12 laptop to boot! Bring it!
...now watch, I probably wont even go out!

Yeah, get out there. If I wasn't under the weather I would try to be out observing as well.

I did.... Wish I hadn't....not a good session. I thought it was going to be... finally got a good polar alignment, but then couldn't manage more than 10 seconds without trails... there are days I do want to chuck this hobby...

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you tonight. I'm about an hour south. The sky got really good about 9pm. Found comet 168p/Hergenrother but its right at the limit of what I can see at low magnification and averted vision. Jupiter was maybe the best I've ever seen. It was great at about 300 mag and I even got to about double that for a few second here & there. A blue filter really made it sharp.

Very cool!
Sorry about my sour state last night - After a good nights rest and a clear head I realize I may be asking too much from my mount to expect it to no trail carrying a heavy F15 scope...
I may shed some items and try to get an F5 or so refractor and have another go at this.
