How many weights does it take to balance a C14 OTA on a G11?
And which ones?

On my CGE it takes 62.5 Lbs to balance it.. If you are hunting for a quick solution just buy some weights from Walmart and they work just as good.

I have one 21(?) pound down near the bottom of the shaft, and 2 x 11 lbs sitting on an extension at the end of the shaft. That's enough for the C14 Edge.

Thank you. I have one 21lb and one 7lb. Looks like I may need at least another 21lb weight if not more.
Does anyone make similar weight cheaper than the Losmandy?
$100 for a 21lb weight is a little high.

Weider does. You can get them at just about any sporting goods store. Sandwich a 10# between the 21# & 7# & you'll be good to go.

This setup takes 3 x 21 lbs. Before I added the top scope, I could use a Meade LXD55 weight on the end in place of the safety stop and 2 x 21lb weights part-way up the shaft.
