It seems that my gear locks seem to be slipping a bit on my CG-4 mount. They lock well enough to take long exposure images with my DSLR, but they don't seem to keep it from moving if much more weight/pressure is added to the mount. Is this just a limit for my mount or are my locks just wearing out? I've only had the scope for almost 10 months now.

I dont think the locks are wearing out. Sounds like a combination of reaching a maximum load and in particular re-balancing with a different load.

Thank you, that helps put my mind at ease. I thought maybe I had stripped the gears on the mount.
