Solar sketches made by 9yo girl :)
      #5520176 - 11/14/12 09:20 PM

Hello! I present to You two sketches made by a 9yo child, Her name is Wiktoria Janowska. I met Her at the Zelow Observatory a couple days ago. She's very, very clever n lovely little woman. Well, in this case, Her fantasy sometimes dominated over realism, Imo, this is why these sketches are so beautiful and unique.
She saw a lot of details, maybe a little too much
We used a Coronado PST, Lunt Ls35THa, Mak 127 with Baader solar filter and two Celestron telescopes- 100 and 120mm.
At the end We admired a beautiful Sunset, using Celestron 120, without any filters. We were just amazed. Asymmetry and Sunspots are extremely impressive, We admired to the last sun rays...

Fun to make the youngsters warm for astronomy! My daughters are always waiting to sketch the Sun when I finished counting the number of solarspots

Wow! What you have done is that you created memories for her that have clearly fired up her imagination. This is an experience she will never forget and hopefully ignite a passion for astronomy. Well done!

Very good idea. Its fun to challenge this young girl to draw what still is her memory after the obervation.

Bravo! We need to warp...I mean inspire children early. I am teasing, of course. It is a pleasure to read stories like this. I also (like you) enjoy the imaginative liberty taken by younger eyes when recording observations.
