Is the Mizar K mount still being made? Are there any US dealers? I'm looking for a small mount with slow motion controls and the Mizar looks like it would fit the bill. Are there any similar style mounts out there?
thanks,
Roger

Must still be in production somewhere. I found it on a web site from Hong Kong. http://www.grandeye.com.hk/hotproduct.htm
There are a few recent threads comparing other small AltAz mounts.

Can only find some links on japanese sights but seems out of stock in many places.
Here is the Borg Fork mount that could be interesting. It is light and slow motion controls: http://www.sciencecenter.net/hutech/prices/borgparts/html/3101.htm
best regards Chris

The Mizar K mount is still available from Grandeye Scientific Company in Hong Kong. http://www.grandeye.com.hk/hotproduct.html
There is also a cheaper clone made by Maxvision in China (the company OEM for Meade).
I have both of them.

The Mizar K mount as well as the Maxivision K mount are suitable for mounting OTAs such as the C5 and short 80 mm refractors.

Thanks for the photos.
I have a Meade 310 which was made by Mizar and uses the K mount, it seems to handle the 80mm F/11 OTA quite nicely... It is certainly the best alt-az mount of that era, far better than the Vixen alt-az designs.

There doesn't seem to be any US importers for the Mizar K mount or the Maxivision K mount. Might be able to find one used. I really like the Meade 310 mount. How are the rings attached? Would it be easy to mount another OTA?
