Wow. Paul, I'd love to hear what it's like to binoview with those ZAO-34s and the Mark V. That's a rare experience most of us on here will never have, no matter how many star parties we go to.
Larry
For deep sky objects that fit in its fov the 34's low scatter and excellent contrast teases out more detail for me. I also use them in longer focal length scope for lunar observing.

How do you find the ES 24mm's for binoviewing??
Tim
They're our favorite EPs.
Our BVers (with the ES 24s and before star diagonal reduction for IPD).

Here's mine. Baader Mark V w/1.7 GPC and CZJ orthos.
I still have - and love - the orthos, but I have a few pairs of Brandons (16, 12, and 8) that work extremely well, plus the "standard issue" 24 and 19 Panoptics.
Cheers,
Ron

Here's mine on my ETX-125. I usually use these with Orion Explorer II eyepieces; economical and lightweight.

These are my Orion binoviewers on my LightBridge 16 via an OPT 2x Barlow. I was soooo excited to find that this combination works! This gives the most stunning views of the moon and planets that I have ever had. Simply wonderul.
An interesting bonus of using binviewers on a 16"... it knocks the brightness down a bit! Jupiter is so bright that it softens the contrast. With the binoviewers it is far more comfortable and shows much improved contrast.

Another Binovue with 24 Tak Le's, no corrector or ocs needed with the refractor. In the ep case for BV:
Low power: 32 TV plossl, 23 Ultima WA
Medium: 18 Ultima, 13 TV plossl, 12.5 Ultima, 12.5 Tak Le
High: 10 Tak Le, 7.5 Tak Le, 6 Radian, 5 Ultima.
The redundant focal lengths are more for comparison. I find them all useful and little difference between the Ultimas and Le's.
The 6mm Radians are nice but I want to replace with 6 Brandons for weight.
No merging issues with the 5 Ultimas, but the eye relief is tight. Also only .55 mm exit pupil with the f/9 refractor.

My Blacknight binoviewer. Shown withn Siebert 24mm Ultras and Siebert Galaxy View Focal Reducer into a 2" Stellarvue diagonal on my C8. This particular combo gives me very nice views of M81/M82 and M65/M66. I also purchased an adpater from Harry Siebert that converts the Focal Reducer into a 1.5 barlow, for high power viewing. Of course, I can also use the Binoviewer without the focal reducer or barlow effects.
