IC 1805 With OIII
      #5523304 - 11/16/12 06:39 PM Attachment (23 downloads)

I'm still working on coloring the blended images. This seemed to show the structures well. Processed in PixInsight and CS5. Feedback appreciated. I could use the input. Thanks!

Terry, I can't give advice as you are way past me in imaging and processing skills. I will say that I like the image. You have been getting some great detail with the new camera. Colours look good as well.

Thanks Tim - I'm slowly putting the pieces together but efinately consider myself to be an amateur still. This was my second attempt to blend Ha and OIII.

Edit: I think it was too red so...

Hi,

I personally like the first one more. Mostly a matter of taste though. Both are great images in their own right.

Great job!

Wouter.

There is a strong OIII component in there and I think just how to balance it in is a lot to do with how much you captured and as always the personal taste. I have a version of this that had about 4 hours of 20 min subs using the Baader 8nm OIII in the gallery in my sigline below for comparison if you like. There is one done with My160mm scope at ~ f/6 and another from my 80mm scope - interesting to me to note similarities and differences.

Each object in NB 'IMO' presents it's own challenges - this field is interesting to me because of the very different symmetry and type(s) of stucture as well as contrast levels.

I like both your interpretations as posted here, though to me it seems more too much a blue cast than red? At least blue halos around the bright stars in central grouping - but I still like it! Also nice job on not punching down the low contrast data and keeping it an active component in the overall - your are doing nice work!
