Hi all,
Thanks to a hurricane (in which the lowest pressure recorded at my observatory was 950mb as the center of circulation passed overhead and the highest wind gust was 74mph), a glancing blow from a “nor’easter”, and endless nights of clouds, it’s been nearly two months since I was able to image. We had clear skies and fairly good seeing at times last night for these images taken as the GRS rotated into view. Jupiter certainly has grown since I last saw it in mid-September!

Regards,
Wayne

Lovely image Wayne. It could perhaps be slightly less bright though.

Great work Wayne! It can be frustrating waiting through multiple weather distubances. Hopefully we all have other interests to keep us from going nuts in the meantime.
Sadly the long term outlook is not good for the US, with a return of an El Nino pattern. Maybe thats better for you in the northeast? Don't know but in the southwest it means more disturbances passing through.
Best wishes, Glenn

Thanks, all! @Glenn, the El Nino tend to give us drier, warmer weather with more coastal storms. The seeing is probably a little better because of it, but just as often it's hidden behind clouds.
Also, here's the RBG with the color channels. An IR from this session is on my site (link below.)

Oh my gosh Wayne I love your interpretation of Red, Jr., it's what I would expect to see were I able to orbit Jupiter. I know what you mean about being surprised by Jupiter's size; it was so big on Sunday morning that I had to pull out my 3x barlow and go with a 2.5x. Otherwise Jupiter would have bumped into the long edge of the sensor.

Beautiful! Simply amazing detail. I'm astonished you're able to get that from the Philly suburbs; whenever I try planetary imaging or observing from the Baltimore suburbs, it always looks like mush.
