Hi.
Three of the best proms from this morning. The conditions were much better in the morning than during the afternoon.

Exactly how I saw them to day Andre! Did you see the feathery filament around AR1613 today? It was about 17:00 UT and it must have been a very rapid event. I noticed it then and about an hour later I looked and it was totally gone.

No, I didn't see it as I closed my POD after my three sketches and returned at 19h UT.

Andre,
I saw those proms today with my PST--nicely done.
There was also a great, fat QRF in the SW quadrant and other filaments scattered around the solar disk. Lots of plage around the active regions, too. I only had time to look today, not to sketch, but there was plenty to see.

Adrev -Bon jour!
Beautiful sketching techniques!
I have not been here for some months but decided to take a look at today's others solar sketches as I have not made one in a few years now after many of mine were seen repeatedly in NASA's Spaceweather.com.
I am curious as to how you do the solar surface granulation as I am impressed with your very realistic rendering technique on your solar surface.
Can you share a little as to how you achieve this effect? Are you actually sketching or stippling every little granule of the surface? I used to just drag my pastel chalk on a smooth black sheet of Strathmore Artagain paper or black Canson paper with a slight toothed surface that shows a simulation of canvas weave texture on their pastel papers.
Thanks for any information and I look forward to your observations and sketches in the future.

OMG, you are an artist my friend. Your sketches are so appealing and beautiful. Very nice composition. They are not only sketches but also real marvel.
Thank you for your comments. I just reminded my technique earlier this month. So read these threads and you will understand how I proceed.
