The serial number is scratched on the bottom of the base of the scope. By the looks of the tripod legs and case, it looks like an early one.

I've asked the seller if they can provide that info. Looks cool, but not sure what the early ones are worth. I've also asked if it still runs.

The serial number will give you what is necessary to get a value. Qs look like Qs and you might guess a 10 year span but it is all a guess without the serial number. The serial number will tell the year of production, the mirror type, coatings and other options. From the pictures the value can be $900 to $3000.
You need to state the number of EPs that will come with it and what type they are. Does it have s Solar Filter (pocket in upper left of case door) and if the Solar Filter is a Full one or an Off Axis? Does it have any photo accessories? Has it been back to Questar for normal service and when was that? Is the case leather or other?
Luck, Bill

Sounds good. I'm guessing no on many of those fronts. Looks from the pictures that it has one eyepiece (probably a brandon). No pictures showed any extras like solar viewing etc. I can find out on the going back for service, but I doubt it.
It's listed at $1000, so i guess if I could get it around 600-800 it'd probably be a good deal either way?

If its in as good a shape as the photos indicate, $1,000 is a good deal too.
