I know Mars is in, but...
      #5526 - 08/02/03 10:34 PM Attachment (73 downloads)

Does anyone have a picture of the Pitavius crater with more magnification and detail than this one?

I took this one a couple of nights ago at 120X + 3X camera zoom, however it doesn't show the level of detail I wanted to achieve.

I'm particularly interested in the cleft which is about 52 miles long and runs from the center of the crater to its rim.

Thanks,

I'm sure I have it Neme, but I'll have to look for it. I have about 7 CDs of nothing but moon shots I have taken over the last year. When I find it I'll email it to you. Tonight the TAO-130 is being broken in to the night sky.

Whoa, be gentle with the TAO Charles. And please let me know about the comparisons between the TAO and Bertha.

By the way, have you named the TAO yet?

I appreciate your looking for the photos.

I got it Charles, thanks a lot.

Were you using Bertha for that one? Do you remember what kind of magnification you had going?

It is a larger picture than mine. However, if you ever come across a larger yet version just remember me and send it over, ok? But there's no rush. If and when.

Thanks again.

Gary just emailed me some really good close-ups of the moon floor. So I guess the gauntlet has been thrown. I'm dragging Bertha out tonight to see if I can beat his shots. I'll especially try to capture your crater.

Charles,
oops, that will get Neme thinking, does this mean we have to post those cursed pictures then. If we do, perhaps you can do it, as you have the broadband, although I can reduce them a bit if you want me to post.
Got some good Mars as well today. I will post them in the CCD section.
Gary
